Red Onion Snail

The Red Onion Snail is a variety of nerite snail (scientific name Vittina semiconica) known for its attractive, banded shell that resembles layers of an onion. It's a popular choice for aquariums due to its effective algae-eating capabilities and inability to reproduce in freshwater, preventing overpopulation. These peaceful snails thrive in moderately hard, alkaline freshwater conditions and are excellent cleaners for aquarium glass, decorations, and substrate.
